American economist Thomas Sowell once said..

The first lesson of economics is scarcity: there is never enough of anything to fully satisfy all those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics.

We’re hard at work here analysing supply and demand economics for a video of our own but in the mean time we came across this gem of a video.

Produced by Queuepolitely and featuring Ben Dyson of Positive Money, Josh Ryan-Collins of The New Economics Foundation, Ann Pettifor, the “HBOS Whistleblower” Paul Moore, Simon Dixon of Bank to the Future and Nick Dearden from the Jubliee Debt Campaign, this is the first documentary to tackle the money supply issue from a UK-perspective.

One of the main reasons #generationrent are in their predicament is the ridiculous prices commanded for housing and also the landlords who borrow made up commercial bank money and expect us to pay it back for them whilst they cream off a healthy profit along with the banks.

We’ve cued the video up at the relevant point but the entire documentary is well worth a watch, depressing as it is. Bring it up with your MP!
